A comment before you continue into my "Links." Even though they are listed within my "Links," I do not endorse the practices of several online genealogy sites that charge ridiculous subscription prices for users to access their databases. Even more so, I abhore the practice of those sites which ask you to freely donate your genealogy research to them and then they turn around and charge others to access that same information either online or via CDs.

Most of the information that the above mentioned sites are trying to sell you is already available on the Internet and you can access it for absolutely no charge! Knowing how to effectively search the Internet is the key to worthwhile (and cost-effective) research. Don't rely just on the specialized or dedicated genealogy web sites when searching. Try them first and then go to one of the major Internet search engines (I use www.google.com) and try a specific search using different word combinations of the type information you are seeking. I highly recommend spending a little time using the Internet search engines before you pay money for information that's just out there on the web waiting for you to find it!
